Essential everyday safety skills in the home and community

Safety Skills Reader is ideal for self-study for the teen or young adult reading at a second grade level or below. Its carefully conceived and well-illustrated stories cover 26 scenarios and a wide variety of essential everyday safety skills in the home and the community that need to be mastered before taking on the challenge of independent living.

Each four- to six-page story is vividly illustrated in an appealingly contemporary graphic-novel style with adult characters. The easy-to-read stories are aimed at the transition student about to leave home upon graduation. Illustrations are age-appropriate and engaging. The stories are designed so that parents can read them aloud, although some readers will be able to tackle them independently. Covered spiralbound book, 162 pages, 2008.
