Dynamite Emotions includes six well-written and carefully conceived stories that feature teen and young adult characters experiencing social and emotional challenges with family, friends, and coworkers. Written by a school psychologist, the stories reflect modern times and attitudes. The book explores the feelings of each character and provides suggested resolutions to their disputes and conflicts. It begins with a mini-dictionary of 28 feelings illustrated with close-ups of young people showing distinct facial expressions. The drawings, which are based on research into how facial muscles define various facial expressions, help the student learn how to read the feelings of others. Each story page features a dynamic and colorful graphic-novel style illustration designed to appeal to young people. The book is ideal for the teen or young adult reading at a second grade level or below. Dynamite Emotions Software features stories that are read aloud to the user by professional narrators. The text is highlighted by word, by line, or by complete sentence. The student can also click on any individual word to hear it read. Graphics are plentiful, contemporary, and age-appropriate. A comprehension test at the end of each story is also read aloud. An optional hint feature directs the user to the answer page to check responses. A unified management system helps you quickly review or print out user performance data. You can determine reading lists and set the options that best suit the student's learning style. Choose speech narration either word-by-word or as naturally occurring continuous speech narration. Then select the text highlighting approach and assign tests.
